SUNDAY, MARCH 27, 2011

Following a successful impromptu concert in Namche Bazaar on Thursday, March 24, 2011, the members of the 7 Summits Foundation “Save the Himalayas” concert series have made their way to Lukla where they are preparing for their second concert on Monday, March 28, 2011. With the experience of the Namche concert, the artists look to build on their performance, offering the people of Lukla and tourists passing through a great show.

Embracing the President AC Sherpa’s words at the opening ceremony that took place on the Kala Patthar trail, 7 Summits Foundation looks to continue their initiative as the “Voice from the Top of the World,” raising awareness of the negative effects of global warming on the livelihood of the people of Solukhumbu. Sherpa, President of 7 Summits and leader of the Mt. Everest Base Camp trek, will be attempting to set a new mountaineering record by summiting Mt. Everest three times in one climbing season, furthering the mission of the foundation.
